As the soft touch of slumber reaches my eyes i drift off to sleep
Reality fades into fog as the dreamworld strengthens its hold
I find myself travelling desolate roads far from the land that I know
A growing sense of dread hangs in the air above me like smoke
I watch in helpless horror, my movements encased in concrete
The taker of life drawing nearer, the oncoming angel of death
Unable to deflect my gaze, they fall to the ground as the blade cuts them down
My mouth forms a scream but my throat doesn't let loose a sound
The once blurry faces revealed, the ones I once knew are destroyed
Their bodies mangled and torn, left to bleed out in front of my eyes
I watch in helpless horror, my movements encased in concrete
The agony of their demise, my mind being tortured in sleep
Devoid of comfort in the hours of nocturnal rest
Plagued by visions of murder
Night after night the terrors reappear
The mind playing tricks on the soul
